Resources Centre

The Hong Kong government is committed to promoting inclusive education, and students with special educational needs are encouraged to attend mainstream schools. As such, our school has been selected as a Resources Center since 2004. As Resources Centre, we provide support in forms of professional sharing and exchanges to mainstream schools with SEN students, in order to help those schools to promote effective learning for children with mild grade intellectual disabilities.

Services

Our school continues to serve as a Resources Centre. Through the “School Partnership Scheme”, with the vision of “going out”, “welcoming in” and “walking in hands”, we want to help mainstream schools to support their students with mild grade intellectual disabilities. By organising workshops, we share ideas on enhancing the skills and strategies of teachers and teaching assistants in mainstream schools. Within two weeks after the workshops, we will arrange Open Lessons to allow participants of the workshops to observe the actual lessons and training sessions in our school, so as to deepen the participants’ understanding of the relevant teaching strategies and their applications. Besides, we also offer “Short-term Attachment Programme” to students who face severe adaption challenges in mainstream schools, and offer them trainings on social, communication and learning skills, so that they can be equipped to return to mainstream schools.
